The program focuses on educating the community about mental illness and mental health, and co-ordinates a number of promotional activities within Aspire and the local community

To do this we partner Community Health Services, Local Service Clubs, Clinical Psychiatric Providers, Primary Care Partnerships, Sporting Clubs, Family & Youth Services, Drug & Alcohol Services, local small and large industry, Philanthropic Trusts, Local, State and Federal Government Departments and Country Fire Authority.

At work in a woolshed…. Striving to meet the needs of our rural community.

Aspire plays a role in the Regional Alliance for Mental Health Promotion network (RAMHP), an inclusive group comprising all mental health service providers from across south west Victoria to plan, promote, advocate, support and facilitate Mental Health Promotion activities across the region.

The National Action Plan for Promotion, Prevention and Early Intervention for Mental Health 2000, states that depression alone will constitute one of the greatest health problems worldwide by 2020.  Aspire seeks to respond to this, based on local research and knowledge.  Suicide amongst young men and isolated farmers is significant.  Aspire seeks to understand this more, and provide more ‘upstream’ support for vulnerable groups through mental health promotion and education activities
