Supported Residential Service (SRS) Program

The SRS program is a Home and Community Care (HACC) initiative that commenced in July 2000. Strong partnerships have developed between residents, proprietors and other services involved with the SRS facilities located in Koroit and Warrnambool. Core funding for the program is derived from the Department of Health Victoria Home and Community Care Program.

The program strives to meet people's individual needs. This incorporates high quality social and recreational activities to over 60 SRS residents. Innovative programs are continually being developed to offer new challenges and exciting experiences with the aim of enhancing the lives of residents and maintaining community access. Many residents have developed new friendships, improved confidence, rediscovered old skills, learnt to laugh again and found new courage to cope.

The SRS Program is continually being evaluated to ensure it is meeting the needs of residents who often have multiple and complex issues including social, emotional, cognitive and physical difficulties.

Additional Funding has been accessed from:

  • BHP Billiton - to provide the residents and others the opportunity to participate in sporting, recreational and social activities that otherwise may not be possible. Through these activities participants are able to engage with the broader community. This funding is for several events over a period of three years.
  • Western District Employment Access Charitable Trust - to provide overnight trips/camps for the SRS residents.
  • We are also grateful for the significant support we receive from local services and clubs.

For more information or enquiries please contact the SRS Program Co-ordinator at the Warrnambool office Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
