Sage Hill Carers Service

Victoria

Sage Hill Carers Service provides advice, advocacy and peer support to carers of people with a mental illness, living in Southwest Victoria. The Service was established in 1995 and since that time has provided support to over a 1000 carers.

Services include:

  • The opportunity to talk about caring for someone with a mental illness and strategies for caring
  • Assistance with managing your own stress and related health issues
  • Individualised support for carers and the opportunity to share experiences with other carers (peer support)
  • Information about carer resources and carer support groups available in our local area
  • Information about mental illness and its treatment
  • A visiting service to carers throughout the Southwest of Victoria.
  • Planned Respite
  • Educational workshops, forums and lectures
  • Regional monthly support groups in Portland, Hamilton, Warrnambool and Camperdown
  • A monthly newsletter with upcoming events and other relevant information
  • Special projects to meet carers needs.
  • Sage Hill Carers Advisory Panel (CAP)

The CAP has a long history of providing supportive input into program development at Sage Hill, having evolved from the self titled "tribal elders" that among other activities were instrumental in the initial establishment of Sage Hill.

For more information including the referral process, please contact Sage Hill, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
