Southwest Victoria Rehabilitation and Recovery Service

Aspire Southwest Victoria has been established for over 15 years and delivered Rehabilitation and Recovery Services to hundreds of people from every corner of the region.

The Aspire Rehabilitation and Recovery Service has offices located in Warrnambool, Hamilton, Portland and Camperdown. Our outreach catchment covers the Shires of Glenelg, Southern Grampians, Moyne and Corangamite and the City of Warrnambool.
All Aspire offices operate from 9am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
No after hours or on call services are provided.

The core role of the Aspire Rehabilitation and Recovery Service is individualised one on one home based outreach and the provision of psycho-social rehabilitation for individuals aged 16-64 who experience psychiatric disability due to a serious mental illness. Aspire is a non-clinical service focusing on the individuals' rehabilitation and recovery.

The Rehabilitation and Recovery Service uses a rehabilitation model that supports people to be successful and satisfied in valued roles within the community through the development of skills and supports. Groups at Aspire compliment the one on one work and are aimed at the development of skills and providing challenging and enriching experiences in the community.

Aspire operates a nominated housing and support program. This enables some limited opportunity for participants to be nominated for Office of Housing properties across the region and to receive ongoing support to achieve and maintain stable and secure housing.

In the Warrnambool area, we also operate a peer support group for people with the experience of mental illness called DASH (Daily Activities and Self Help). This group meets regularly to provide support for one another and promote connectedness within the community through enriching social activities.

With the consent of participants, Aspire works collaboratively with many other health and community service providers in the Southwest to support their rehabilitation and recovery. These include area mental health services, other mental health support providers, alcohol and other drug services, employment agencies, education and training facilities, housing services and many others.
